medications...good and bad
I have a question about meds that might be helpful and harmful to my M. colitis. I recently started Plaquenil, which was traditionally an anti-malarial drug but now used for people with lupus and other similar issues. It is tearing my stomach apart! Has anyone had the same reaction to this ...

Hi Mandy,
It sounds like you are explaining exactly what I go through almost every day. One of my doctors diagnosed it as Allodynia. (a pain due to a stimulus which does not normally provoke pain. Temperature or physical stimuli can provoke allodynia, and it often occurs after injury to a site) If ...

Thank you for your replies!
Leah-when the nurse told me to take my current med and Predn. together I was definitely confused...I know that they are both corticosteroids and I also mentioned my concern of side effects. I was told to call if I started to notice any "adverse "side effects.

Why Predn. & Entocort at the same time???
Hi all, I feel terrible asking so many questions! I wish that there was a way for me to search my questions here in the forum. I feel like there are already answers somewhere but I don't know where to find them. Let me know if I missed that.
Anyhow, I'm a little disappointing to hear from my doc ...

wow I was worried that there was a gas leak in my house and I was starting to hallucination or visualize food everywhere! I'm glad to know it's just the Entocort. I will give it some more time, but if I keep eating this way I am going to have to get more gluten free cook books at the library...I'm ...

confused about side effects of meds
Has anyone else found that Budisone (Entocort) has made their appetite increase? After a week and a half of being on it I am wanting to eat every few hours. I don't see much change in symptoms other than a little less cramping and a HUGE appetite.
Anyone else?

Always waiting for something right!? When is the GF/DF diet going to work...not yet. Now it's been 4 days on 9mg of Budisone. NOT working yet. I know I am being impatient, but I also know you can all relate. I waited for weeks to see the doctor and hoped that there would be a magical light at the ...

yes, the doctor confirmed that when the back pain begins, it's a sign that the inflammation is back and to begin treatment asap. He says that he begins treatment with recurring MC at this point with patients. I guess this is a good sigh to be aware of other than waiting for your stomach to implode ...

Zizzle~that is very interesting to hear about the probiotics. I was suspicious of the Align that I have been taking for a very long time now. When I stop taking it I have other issues...I think I will switch to Culterelle and see how that goes. I just picked up some Krout...Bubbies brand! I read ...

Hi Leah, I am not eating meat mainly because I have been a vegetarian for years and it just sounds terrible. I do eat fish and eggs. Trust me, I am trying to think rational knowing that this protein could really heal me, I just cant find the courage.

When will I feel better from a GF diet?
Does it take a while for the gluten free/dairy free diet to kick in? I haven't felt the benefits of this yet? I was just curious to see if that was common or if I was doing something wrong? It's been about a week and a half with NO Gluten, meat or dairy.
Thank you so much for all of your help!
