Re: Newly diagnosed and question for my first doc appt

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. I see no one has responded so I'll offer my opinion. Your description sounds as if you're on the right track, and you're recovering. But 458, as you are aware, Is a very high level for MC. As you probably know, MC is primarily driven by lymphocyte infiltration into the ...

Here are a few brands that have much safer (MC-friendly) ingredients. Have you tried (or ruled out) all of these?

RiseWell Mineral Toothpaste

MooGoo Skincare Natural Toothpaste

Ollie Clean Mint Toothpaste

TheraBreath Sensitive Toothpaste

ATTITUDE Fluoride‑Free Sensitive Toothpaste

Re: Cholestyramine Question

Good question. I'm not sure that's ever been discussed here before. If it were me, I would do the elimination diet first, while skipping the cholestyramine. And if I don't see significant improvement in about 3 months, I would consider adding the cholestyramine. Here's why: when you do the diet ...

Re: Well, what a hypocrite I am

Hi John,

I haven't had that problem personally, but since I'm seriously histamine sensitive, I'm somewhat familiar with issues of this sort. So here's my opinion:

This doesn't apply to all MC patients or even most of us, but it applies to a few of us, and those of us who have histamine sensitivity ...

Re: Moving From Budesonide to LDN

You're sailing in uncharted waters. There is no solid evidence LDN treats microscopic colitis

No trials supporting its use

No guideline endorsement

At best, all the available information is unproven, anecdotal, and speculative. And this status is unlikely to change any time soon, because the ...

Re: Preparing for Phase 1- Feedback Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the group. In addition to what John posted, as I recall, more than a few women have been able to supplement their iron needs by cooking in cast-iron pots or skillets. You can search for some of the discussions about that by searching for the proper keywords.

Also, a fairly high ...

Hi Felicity,

Sure, I'll be happy to try to interpret that pathology report for you. I'll send you my email address in a private message so that bots that scan the Internet looking for email addresses won't be able to see it.

Re: MCC questions, looking for new G.I. Doctor

I have one question. Are you still taking all that stuff? If you are, it's no wonder you can't reach remission. I wonder if a perfectly healthy individual would be able to tolerate all those "supplements". You appear to be getting your treatment advice from "snake oil salesmen".

Re: Bloodwork question

Thanks for the update. That's an interesting story. It sounds as though you were originally seeing a rather testy hematologist/oncologist. I could be wrong, but I can't help but wonder if she made that remark because she had a hunch that the specialists at MD Anderson would find her "diagnosis ...

Re: Help I need to take antibiotics

I'm not aware that starting a probiotic before a UTI treatment is ended is harmful. I just doubt that it helps any, because commercial probiotics don't survive but a day or so in the gut (only probiotic bacteria that are raised in human intestines can attach, and survive for the long-term). Some ...

Re: New member. On elimination diet. Bad gas

Sorry for the slow reply — I've had a busy day. The problem may be your calcium supplement. Calcium supplements can cause gas and bloating in MC patients, especially if they're already getting enough in their diet. Most high-dose supplements use calcium carbonate, which requires adequate stomach ...

Take 500 mg Thorne additionally.
500 mg of Thorne what? If that's magnesium, it's a lot (for your weight) on top of the rest.

Can I double dose mct oil for fat ?
Probably. If it causes loose stools, remember that oil is a lubricant.

Re: Heartburn: question for Gabes and Tex

If you're going to see a gastroenterologist, a prescription for oral cromolyn sodium, Or ketotifen would probably be the most beneficial, Because it would stabilize mast cell activity and prevent mediator release. Over here in the US, those prescriptions are unavailable, but if you're in Europe ...
