Re: Colitis malabsorption--B12 deficiency--Neurological Symptoms
It’s hard to believe I joined this group over 8 years ago! It’s been a long, challenging journey which I couldn’t have undertaken without all the help and encouragement received here. And like many others who were guided to remission here, I haven’t posted anything in years. So I offer my sincere ...

Re: One year later and still need help!
My PCP was surprisingly open to prescribing LDN. Admittedly one of the reasons I waited so long to ask was that I expected her to decline. Early last March, when she prescribed gabapentin for a pinched nerve, I sent her links to some LDN trials and studies on neuropathic pain, IBD’s, urticaria, etc ...

Re: One year later and still need help!
Jeannie and Tex,
I agree that the single most important element in reducing inflammation and managing collagenous colitis is a diet that eliminates the foods one reacts to. But although a strict G/F, D/F, S/F, E/F, low-histamine diet helped me enormously, some symptoms persisted. I don’t think ...

Re: Low Dose Naltrexone LDN
Paul,
Valor sent the following reply:
“Thank you for contacting us! For the LDN we have a flat-rate of $105 for 90 capsules (90 days supply) meaning the same price apply to 4.5mg and 5mg capsules. We also offer free shipping and 2 days turnaround time.”
I’m currently paying about 25% less ($79 ...

Re: Low Dose Naltrexone LDN
Thanks Paul. I took a look at their website, which was pretty user friendly. They’ll transfer your Rx, work with your provider—or refer you to one. They ship to Oregon and a dozen or so other states. They had an inquiry form and I’ve asked for quotes on 90 day supplies of 4.5 mg and 5 mg LDN. You’re ...

Re: Covid vaccine
My husband and I each received our first dose of Pfizer 5 days ago at a PDX parking lot drive-thru operated by the medical school. Very efficient, unlike the process of getting appointments. No problems other than sore arms for 2 days, although I was surprised that they scheduled our second dose for ...

Re: Low Dose Naltrexone LDN
Paul,
It was at least a month before I noticed that digestive issues had begun to improve. But progress was gradual, intermittent and more difficult to pinpoint than other issues. I started LDN on 4/2/20 and on 6/6 had a Reclast infusion during which I contracted either the flu or a mild case of ...

Re: Low Dose Naltrexone LDN
Hi Paul,
My first reactions were similar to yours. I'd almost forgotten what it was like to feel good and be energized. This overall sense of well-being continues, and over time I also noticed gradual improvements in other chronic conditions. I guess this has become my "new normal”, although its ...

Re: Low Dose Naltrexone LDN
Hi Paul,
Since it’s prescribed by my PCP, I’m able to get LDN from a local compounding pharmacy. I think their charges are based more on the # of pills than the dosage. My 1st 90 day prescription included:
42 pills @ 1.5 mg (for 21 days:1st wk=7, 2nd wk=14, 3rd wk=21) = $43.99
70 pills @ 4.5 mg ...

Re: Are antihistamines safe to use long term??
Firstly I want to thank everyone here who’s help has been invaluable these past years. I haven’t posted in ages but have continued to lurk in the shadows while trying to achieve MC remission and to understand and address mast cell activation syndrome/histamine intolerance.

Susanne,
Sorry to see your latest update. Hope things are at least beginning to improve. Can’t tell you how may times I’ve stopped and restarted various supplements trying to identify possible “culprits.” Sometimes its best to take a break from just about everything for awhile—even food—particularly ...

Dorothy and Susanne,
In the “we’re all different department,” I’ve been taking Rx Potassium since 2010, and it has not helped at all with debilitating muscle cramps. For continuing relief I’ve had to also take 1,000 to 1,400 mg of Mag Glycinate daily. For years I also took megadoses of Vitamin K2 ...
