It's been a year, 3 weeks+ off Entocort
I've been on and off this site for a year. It has helped in so many ways. A quick summary, diagnosed in March 2017. Prescribed Uceris - too strong, ended up in hospital for a variety of reasons, all GI. Switched GIs and changed to Entocort in August. Symptoms were such that 3 mg every other day was ...

MethylGuard question
Hi everyone! I have one of the MTHFR mutations. My integrative medicine doctor recommended Methylation Complete. In looking at it, it is similar to MethylGuard in ingredients and purpose, different amounts of ingredients but looks similar. For those of you that take something like this, did you have ...

Just one more way MC is inflammatory - since my diagnosis in March 2017, my C-reactive protein was measured. It is high. Never in my life has it been high. As my doctor said, it is a general marker for inflammation, not just cardiac issues (which I do not have). Really for my purposes the CRP test ...

Thanks y'all. I knew my new GI wasn't going to suggest diet changes. I knew him years ago, and unless there is a solid clinical study, he isn't going to recommend it. He was not opposed to diet, he just wasn't going to recommend. For where I am, I am okay with this. I have learned enough from this ...

For what its worth....new GI doc gave a bit of perspective
One thing I have struggled with, since being diagnosed in March, is how dismissive my GI was of the disease state. Literally, she wrote me a years worth of Uceris and told me to come back in 10 years for a follow up colonoscopy. (she did say call if I need anything, but I felt completely dismissed ...

Thanks Gabes and Tex. I have been applying it to my neck (per doctor direction due to headaches, she thought it would help with muscle tension). Also to low back, and calf muscles. It just developed a mild rash around my neck. I know the skin is a bit tender there. I don't have trouble with burning ...

Oral Magnesium question
Hi all,
Is it possible to titrate your way up to the recommended dose of Magnesium? I started Dr. Best oral and it was too much for me to take orally before bedtime (cause D). I switched to topical in May, but I am starting to get some irritation for it.
Also, as your Magnesium level increases ...

I just wanted to say thank you again to all of you. I am home from vacation and things are returning to normal (Ha!).....funny, can't really claim normal, but funny how I wanted just to have routine, daily MC. The cramping subsided greatly after the medication I received from the ER. Although I left ...

Thank you both! I am doing topical magnesium. I am sure it takes some time to have them increase but I am working on it. I am learning that there are no "quick" fixes with this. I stopped the Uceris. I will see what happens over the next two days. If nothing happens, I will take the Colase. I am ...

So back from ER....ugh, question about Colase
So I am on vacation, going to several national parks and hiking. My symptoms have been manageable, or so I thought. I had an episode of bad WD last night. It passed and felt okay this am. However as the morning progressed, I started cramping really bad. We tried to do a few short walks and I had ...

Thank you Tex! Good to know about the magnesium. I knew I needed the RBC, but couldn't remember what "true" normal was. Definitely will continue to work on increasing my magnesium.
I will keep that in mind about the pregnenione. My moods are okay. I am still focusing on diet, elimination is a bit ...

Additional bloodwork results
Hi everyone-
My provider ran a panel of tests. Good news is my Vitamin D is on the rise. It is 42.5 ng/ml. It was 23 in December. Although not as helpful, my magnesium, RBC is 5.4, which is in the range of normal. This is after several months of topical magnesium, which I will continue.
