JoAnn, good luck with the Entocort. I tend to lean toward more naturopathic rather than pharmaceutical strategies, but did decide to try Entocort as well. Took 9mg in the mornings for three weeks, and just went down to 6mg. I was pleasantly surprised. The only side effect I noticed was a mild ...

What's in Mother's Margarine? Or should I say, what's not in Mother's Margarine? Is it soy free?

We've been using coconut oil as a spread and my kids like it, but I'd like a little buttery flavor now and then.

Jodi - Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Sounds like you've truly been through hell. Are you able to eat without the pain now that you're GF?

I haven't checked on this site for a couple of weeks because I am feeling so much better now I just got back to living life! I'm holding steady at ...

Hi - note to Tex about my chocolate comment - I don't think the chocolate is causing GI troubles for me, I think it's making me jittery/anxious. Probably the theobromine in it. I love it, though, and snuck into the Enjoy Life chocolate chips yesterday. Was a little shaky this morning, but able to ...

Hi again, Kat.

A quick list of supplements for depression: St. John's Wort, 5-HTP, SAM-e, Omega Brite.

St. John's Wort and 5-HTP shouldn't be taken with other antidepressant meds, Omega Brite is okay to combine with meds, and I haven't found anything on SAM-e.

I had depression before LC, and ...

Hi Kat. I'm new to this site as well. Diagnosed with LC in December and found the Potty People right away, thank goodness. Even though it's only been a couple of weeks I feel like a success story already. My doc gave me a prescription for Entocort and I've been taking 9 mg. a day for a couple of ...

This weight discussion is hitting close to my heart. My body has always insisted on storing every extra calorie and I've never been underweight in my life, even as a competetive runner and triathlete. I'm too much of a cookie monster. This is the first time I've been dropping weight easily and ...

Tex, thanks for the reassurance. My father in would be the first to admit he's not perfect and is just trying to be helpful I'm sure. He always errs on the side of caution, especially when it comes to his family. I haven't even gotten my hands on the pathology report yet, but I'll let you know when ...

Wow. I feel like I woke up this morning to find a bunch of new friends in my kitchen - friends with whom I can sit around in my pajamas and talk about poop! Thanks so much for the warm welcome and good advice.

This morning I talked with my father in law, who is a retired clinical pathologist ...

Aaah. Further reading answered many of my last questions - one member had blurry vision and trouble walking without walls on Entocort and it seems to vary from two weeks to a year for seeing results after stopping gluten. I know I should go to bed, but I keep finding more good stuff here.

Thanks for the info, Tex.

I do feel fortunate to have a diagnosis so soon after I started having symptoms - almost three months - seemed like an eternity until I started reading some of the posts here. And then to find this group right away. And, hey, I already knew what gluten was, even though I ...
