I have been on the mastocytic enterocolitis protocol for awhile. I take zyrtec and zantac (a class one and class two antihistamine) to control those symptoms.

So hopefully the combination of all the meds will get me somewhere! LOL

Tex, before I even got diagnosed I had a CT scan show inflammation of the colon in general. I have believed all along I had Crohn's and not the other. As far as the serology test, they ran the one specific to tell if it's UC or Crohn's. It is supposed to have over a 95% accuracy.

It's been awhile since I've checked in here, but it's been a very trying year. I was first diagnosed with mastocytic enterocolitis back in June of 2011. Since then I have had a small bowel follow through, upper scope, serology testing and a pill cam...and finally have a changed diagnosis to Crohn's ...

My doctor is really thinking Crohns disease. I just want to get a diagnosis so I can get going on medication so I can finally start to feel better:( This has taken its toll on me this year. I appreciate your response as it does make me feel better.

They did the first xray at 20 minutes so not sure ...

So I had the small bowel series (the follow through) done today. It only took 20 minutes for the barium to go completely through my stomach and small bowel. Otherwise my small bowel looked good.

They did write on the report about how fast it went through my system, but didn't find any evidence of ...

I actually got sick after a round of doxycycline!!!! I still to this day associate all my health issues with that round of antibiotics!

I saw an allergist here in our area but unfortunetely he is still learning about it like we all are. All the common food and environment allergies, with the exception of dust, I was negative for. So I'm not real allergic to anything..which is odd.
