Thank you all.

I have been given Adcal-D3 which is calcium and vitamin D combined. 1500mg/400iu twice a day. It does contain soya oil. I will have to see how it goes.

I practically live outdoors as long as the weather is dry, as I always have a bit of a craving for natural light.

I have fallen ...

vitamin d deficiency

Hi all

I have now been diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency. I have been reading that it is linked to Coeliac Disease. I am assuming my LC would also cause it? I eat plenty of the foods that contain it and spend as much time outside as I can at this time of year so my GP is prescribing me vitamin d ...

Thank you

When your gastoenterologist admits that he doesn't know much about LC you know you're on your own... well I would be without this forum anyway.

Finally my symptoms have gone  I have been gluten free for the last few weeks and it seems to be working. I have stopped the steroids and mezavant without any problems at all. It took a while for all the information you have provided to sink in, but now it has I feel like I can have my life ...

Hi Tex

Thanks for the reply. So they don't think the lymphocytes have any significance then? I,m so new to this that whenever I read anything like that it still surprises me

I saw my gastro doc this week. He claims that my symptoms are due to IBS as steroids didn't clear them up. He also ...

symptom or disease?

Has anyone seen this? Is the implication that the lymphocytes found in the bowel wall are a symptom of the myxoedema?

Hi Tex

Thanks for the link. It was a raised TSH which led to an increase in dose of Thyroxine. Looking at the table in the article the steroids should lead to a decreased TSH, so I'm confused!

I was unable to tolerate Ibuprofen, even before my LC diagnosis so I think you may have hit the nail on ...

Hi Sara

To be honest the only diet adjustment I have made is that I stop eating when it's bad. I made the connection quite quickly that it helps. I haven't eaten much in the last couple of days because the LC is flaring, so my weight will start to drop again soon. Also feeling very dehydrated. My ...

Hi again

Feeling better this evening. Have been to see my GP. He's given me codeine as he wants to 'keep steroids in reserve' Maybe is just a one off or even just a morning thing, but I couldn't deal with feeling like that all the time.

Hi Cynthia

I haven't started a food diary yet. I ...

Thank you all for your help. It's very kind of you.

When I was given my original IBS diagnosis years ago, they only did blood tests, no colonoscopy. It was only because of the severity of my symptoms, my family history of bowel cancer and the fact that my GP found a dullness on percussion of my ...

Possible Misdiagnosis

Hi again

I have been thinking about the diagnosis of IBS I was given 18 yrs ago. I have suffered with chronic D and bloating in all that time, but assumed that as my recent illness was so much worse that it was a different thing altogether. It seems now that maybe it wasn't. Is it ...

Hi

Thanks for the quick response

I have had a look at the link for Enterolab, but am unable to justify the expense at the moment. I was made redundant at the end of July and have only just got back into full time employment. I was considering the elimination diet but not sure I have the willpower ...
