I'm really glad to have all this advice. Thank you, Mary Beth, for your professional expertise - I would love to fly down and consult with you! (Tex - a doctor in our family gets nutritional advice from *me* - though I'm not sure he takes it - so you're spot-on that getting this sort of counseling from a physician would be at least frustrating, probably counter-productive).

This clarification about the difference in the new test is really helpful. I am going to wait as well, for totally different reasons from the ones that I thought were my motivation.

Jenny, I do hope you get some relief. Asacol seems to be a 'mixed bag' in terms of helping some folks but not others. If you are doing worse without it than you were before, that's important to consider. It's also possible your symptoms are getting worse because of a food sensitivity, and not only because the Asacol is out of your system. This is so complex and hard to figure out. I hope your path smooths out.

Julie, it's good you have a plan and a resource lined up. (I need to do the same.) Sounds like the new MRT/LEAP team is forming...
