Sounds yummy and healthier than the white rice stuff. Let me know if you come across it anywhere!
Udi's Millet Chia Ancient Grain Bread. Naturally gluten-free and exploding with a scrumptiously satisfying crunch, this bread is also packed with six grams of fiber, five grams of protein, 375mg of Omega-3/6/9, 12 grams of whole grains and tons of antioxidants—making it a heart healthy option you'll actually be excited to eat.

I just saw it at my health food store today. I am supposed to stay away from yeast so I didn't get it. Looks good though

If I see it I'll try it but it probably won't be around here for some time. It does sound better than the usual. I'd about as soon do without than eat most GF breads.

I looked around a couple of days ago - no GF Rice Krispies available here, yet.

Zizzle- I found it at my health food store yesterday, but of course, as with all Udi's products, it contains eggs, darn it! I really wanted to try it!

Tex - I found the gluten free rice crispies at Wal-Mart yesterday. Is there anything in marshmallows that we can't have? I thought I may try to make rice crispie treats with spectrum butter flavored shortening and marshmallows.

Hugs,
Denise

You should always read the label of course, but I believe that with most brands, the marshmallows themselves are probably GF. I've seen warnings by some celiacs, though, suggesting that their safety status depends on the type of flour used to dust the pans/conveyors used in making them, to prevent sticking.

Denise,

Some marshmallows are made from egg whites. If you are intolerant to eggs, you won't be able to eat those marshmallows, unless you are only intolerant to egg yolks. I've seen EF marshmallow fluff, but they contain an ingredient I can't eat - maybe soy?

I'm looking at a bag of Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows. They look safe, unless you are corn intolerant.
Ingredients:
Corn syrup, sugar, dextrose, modified corn starch, water, gelatin, tetrasodium pyrophosphate, artificial color (blue 1) and artificial flavor.

Thanks, Zizzle. I wonder why in the world they add blue dye to white marshmallows?

The color white can be created by mixing blue, green, and red. Maybe the blue dye offsets an otherwise greenish-red color in the finished product.
