Hi all,

Thank you all so much for your support and input on what's going on with me and my family. It means a lot to me. My daughter decided to see a physciatrist because she over reacts to everything. However, she did decide that she will avoid gluten and diary because of my enterolab results. My husband is not good, he decided that he needs to speak with a physciatrist because he is really having a hard time and doesn't know why. He does know that he isn't able to do his job anymore (he's turning 60 this month doing the same job for 41 years-it's all he knows.) he is really burnt out. We just signed the papers to put our house on the market, we will see how that goes. I had my job interview, which went okay, but they are not making a decision until tomorrow.

Now for my FU appointment with my GI Dr on Friday. I went armed with the enterolab results. He told me that I wasted my money, that he already knew that I didn't have CD from a previous test and that the Enterolab results mean nothing. (I had an endoscopy in March, I don't know what he tested for then or if it was from results from my previous GI, who was a jerk.) I knew from reading here what different Drs. have said in the past but I was still dumbfounded. I was told to continue with 2 Entocort daily for another month and then after the next visit I would be weaned off.

I will continue on the gluten/soy/casein/egg free diet I am having pretty good success with following.

Thanks again,
Susanne

Susanne,
Typical doctor. When I took my Enterolab results to the famous Dr. Fasano, he refused to even look at them!! But there is a copy of them in my file...

needs that crop up

Susanne----there are times in our lives when we sorta get overburdened with *stuff*--and we cant figure *how--when and where*So if the need for a physciatrist be of help tis no shame in that~~~~~

I myself have been seeing a hell of a Dr. --who has sorted out many things for me---things that I thought were *peanuts* turned out to be a big bag full of them---
My visits are once a month and if anything brings me down she is open for a phone call~~~

I have emptied myself of things -that I though were *silly* issues but were weighing me down---

So tell ya hubby he is doing a good thing for *himself*----and his family

Barbara,

Thank your for your reply. I know it is the right thing for him to do, I have never ever seen him like this in the 36 years that I have known him. He promised he would go and I'll bug him until he does.

and

Zizzle,

I knew from reading the posts what the Drs. reactions are, so I'll take the Entocort and follow the diet so I can retain remission and stay that way with diet. The GI MD came hightly recommended, I guess the friend who recommended him does have MC. He put the results in my file as well.

Thanks,
Susanne

Susanne,

I'm sorry that your GI doc turned out to be such an "ignorant know-it-all", but apparently he is one of thousands, in this country, alone, who are still totally confused, about treating MC. :sigh:

The good news is, you have educated yourself, so you recognize medical advice that falls under the category of BS, when you see it. :nobullshit:

You, your husband, and your daughter, are all making the right decisions, so I have no doubt that you will all be able to take whatever lemons life happens to deal you, and successfully turn them into lemonade.

And I hope that your diet changes make your digestive system as good as new, as you continue to heal.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Susanne,
Good for all of you, taking these steps to heal yourselves in various ways. Seeing a psychiatrist is not shameful. Taking the first steps to getting there are the hardest. Once in, your husband will realize the benefits, just as your did.

Good luck and keep up your positive attitude.
