the scope prep they have given to me this time is very different to what I did last time so it will be interesting to see how it goes, their instructions
4pm i take 3 bisacodyl tablets and 4 epsom salt capsules (yep evil soy based capsules).
5pm first glass of picoprep 1.5 litres of water and/or apple juice
7pm second glass of picoprep another 1.5 litres of water and/or apple juice
D will would have started (it would have started about 4.30pm from the evil soy caps anyways) and will continue for several hours
I plan on starting it 1 - 2 hours earlier so i am not falling asleep on the toilet at 10pm!
given i have been feeling poorly the past few weeks, I had been quite unsettled mentally and emotionally about the hard work and diligence I have invested for MC management (lifestyle and strict diet), but this has not protected me from issues and symptoms.
If I went and ate out at a risky place and got contaminated then having symptoms would be justified. With this unsettlement i have had really strong cravings for foods i have not had for almost two years, even with the trip to france last year and all the tempations around me there i did not crave thngs like bread, pastries and icecream like i have this past fortnight
as I am going to be doing the scope prep (with the evil soy based capsules), i figured if there was a time to test some of the foods i have avoided for almost 2 years then this week was the time, (mindful after the scopes i will be having lots of nurturing foods to help my gut recover from the prep and the scopes)
last saturday i had some fresh bread, i didnt go over the top with the treat, just fresh bread with my GF/DF/SF spread. i enjoyed every light fluffy element of it. I had a mild 'mc mud' reaction 4 hours later and the only other symptom has been joint aches for the past 3 days, so gut inflammation and leaky gut wise i must be doing ok
that has cured the savoury craving, now i am really craving ice cream, baskin robbins two scoop sundae icecream. (hokey pokey and boysenberry swirl) (prior to MC, most of the semi major decisions of my life were contemplated while i had a baskin robbins sundae)
A friend and I are going to have an ice cream party on friday night,
i have a quiet 'at home' weekend planned and it will be interesting to see how my body reacts to decent serve of dairy
Having the bread and the not so major reaction has helped me to be able to appreciate how far i have progressed inflammation/leaky gut wise and the hard work to date has been worth it.
