I am thinking about having it done, but it's another $500 with the package from the nutrionist recommended to me by Mary Beth. I have been on entocort for about a month. The nutritionist checked with the lab and they said the entocort shouldn't make a difference, but some folks on this site have said something different. Any thoughts? I really don't want to spend the money if it is not going to be reliable.

Compared with the more potent drugs used with organ transplants, Budesonide is a rather weak immune system suppressant. Dr. Fine once answered that question for a member here, concerning the tests offered by Enterolab. I don't have the best memory in the world, but as best I can recall, he said that as long as Entocort had only been used for a few months, it probably wouldn't matter. If it had been used for a year or more, it might affect the test results, (because after that length of time, there might be some significant degree of immune system suppression).
Of course, the MRT testing uses a different type of technique, but it still tests the body's response to various allergens. Maybe Mary Beth can shed some light on this issue.
