"Yep. I thought someone was pushing on my desk chair. Rhythmically! Was weird. I couldn't figure out who or why! Then I stood up and the floor was shaking. Only on the second of two floors, so not too scary."

Glad everyone is alright. My MIL lives in Suitland, just a few miles from Andrews Air Force Base. She thought someone was bombing the Base. I know she was relieved to find it was an earthquake. Lots of pictures fell off the walls.
I'll be thinking of everyone on the East Coast with regard to Hurricane Irene. I hope she doesn't nix your Grandma Irene's 100th birthday celebration, Nancy!

Doing well, thanks Rich. We did have an aftershock a little after 1:00 AM this morning. I slept through it, but hubby woke up because the dog (who was sleeping on the bed) jumped up. Scott saw lamps swaying in the room and heard trashcans rattling outside.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
I felt the 4.5 quake last night. I quickly opened the front door (I learned as a child they can jam shut, trapping you) and was headed to grab the kids when it stopped. It rumbled for about 15 seconds. I'm afraid this is just a prelude to a BIG one. Makes me not want to go to work in an office building. It's as though we were too lucky with the first one. Can anyone guess I'm a pessimist?

Please, stay safe.
Take care, my dear friend.
