Thanks all. And you even got the day right!!!
Having a lovely day, with a bottle of bubbly chilled for after dinner.
I haven't been posting much lately. Doing well, health wise. Rarely get digestive issues as dairy is so easy to avoid, but do regularly get my swollen hands and stuff from the gluten. Only because I take risks, mind you, and eat out.
Some of you will remember I got the Jeep earlier this year. It has been fantastic for us - getting involved with a local club has meant we get out and about with new people.
Here's a few shots from a recent trip to Lake Eyre. You might find it interesting to google map these places - there aren't a lot of people actually live in thes areas as they are harsh and remote. When we left Coober Pedy headed towards Adelaide, the GPS told us the next turn was in 538kms and only a couple of roadhouses inbetween, no actual towns.
The Mound Springs near William Creek SA. In a flat desert you find these weird mounds with a spring right on the top. The white ground is salt.
The edge Lake Eyre from a small plane. This lake is normally salt, and being nearly full is a once in a lifetime event.
The abandoned town of Farina. In the 1800's they tried to grow wheat in a desert and it didn't work.
Sunrise over Coward Springs Station. Halfway between Maree and William Creek
I won't show you the photo of us on the back of a tow truck.

We broke a shock absorber on some badly corrugated roads and had to be towed to Coober Pedy, with our van. True outback Aussie trips are sometimes like that.
Cheers,
Lyn
