I didn't put this in news releases because it isn't one. Still interesting, and food for thought.

Hi Marliss, Thanks for posting this. This is a well put together list of seemingly simple yet very profound concepts that are missed daily. It's amazing how the basics are lost on us sometimes. I'm going to prit out a copy of this and put in on the cork board.

Thanks for posting this

Thanks Marliss. This should be everyone's mantra when it comes to handling a diagnosis. I never presume they are right and always get a second opinion. Guess just my negative side on the medical world.

This is a terrific resource, Marliss (some of the links within the article, too).

I have a "notes for my doctor visit" file that I update regularly - and a separate 'family history' file I started when I began musing on my double-DQ2 genes. I'm definitely going to review the way I've organized this material for my appointment on the 12th, and for my own thinking - with this article (and the resources it links to), I can already see that I'll be better prepared.

(As my friend says, let's hope my doctor is feeling well rested that day.)

Thanks,

Sara

Katy,

Like everything in life... "it depends" - there is nothing like having a doctor finish your questions, so s/he can answer them faster, and then turn around with his/her hand on the doorknob as they're leaving to ask, "anything else?"

Apparently it is possible to mess up the doctor-patient relationship within multiple models of health care

Love,
Sara
