I met Sara in NYC last week! :-)
Hi All,
I just wanted to tell you that I met Sara last week in NYC while I was in town for a symposium. She's really fun and wise. And her hair is darker than in her photo on our listserv. It must be her diet and giving up gluten, etc. It was really great to be able to talk with another MC'er who totally understands what I'm going through.
Hugs to you, Sara.
Sharaine

Isn't it just delightful to meet a fellow PP'er
spending time with someone that 'gets it' is fantastic!
since hearing about duck bacon i am saving my pennies, getting to the USA to try Duck Bacon is a high priority on my bucket list....

Yay, for meeting!
We had such a great chat - and after dinner, a little tour of the world's most gigantic Whole Foods (really, it's bigger than the town I grew up in)... and it was still barely scratching the surface of all we have in common!
My DH took a couple of photos, which I hope I can figure out how to extract from my smart-ish phone... but they do not do justice to the occasion!
Sharaine, I can't wait to see you again, and thanks for posting this before I could. It's been an interesting week - between Rosh haShanah and Yom Kippur, and the folks we always spend these days with both seem to have moms in some version of - oh, you know I think everyone has gluten sensitivity, right??
Gabes... maybe you can convince some local person to start making 'duck bacon' according to your specifications - right??
BTW, we ate in a not-so-special restaurant, on a Sunday evening that wasn't crowded, which gave us a chance to really clarify with the wait-staff what our food concerns were. (The waiter said, did you guys meat in "Gluten Anonymous" - and we said, 'yeah, kind of!')
Mary Beth - I wish I could get down to Dr. F's seminar, but will have to look forward to meeting you another time. (And I can't wait to hear about it...)
Lots of fond wishes to you all, and extra-special hugs, Sharaine - thanks for making time in your NYC travels for a very special evening, and I look forward to our next meeting.

How wonderful that the two of you got to visit, and it sounds like you had a great time!!!
I think we should all get together with our ambassador, Joe, and take photography lessons from him :). Anyhow, like others, I'd love to see a picture of the two of you, even though it might not be on par with Joe's exceptional displays
.
Love,
Kari
