Very much so. I was thinking of dairy in terms of casein, and missed that one.

I am doing the Entercort tests, which are expensive enough. If I need Enterocort it will take a while before I can afford to do MORE tests. Should I have waited? I am so green at this. I want so much to get this under control.

take your time and take it one step at a time

if you make too many changes at once you wont be able to track what is working and what isnt working.
any supplements your start taking can take up to 6 - 8 weeks to take effect and reduce symptoms

I understand your keeness to minimise symptoms, and i wish i could offer to you the guaranteed quick fix solution, but there isnt one,

I didnt do the enterolab tests and only did something similar to the MRT testing 12 months after diagnosis.
I managed to figure out my major triggers, eliminate them and have reasonable symptom control in about 6 months without those tests.

Leslie,

The Enterolab tests are much more specific, (much more definitive), than the MRT, but the MRT covers many, many more foods, ingredients, and chemicals. The MRT requires extensive trial and error food testing, after the results are back, in order to confirm which foods are actually a problem, and which ones are safe. Therefore, most members here do the Entocort testing first, and if they still have problems with their diet, they do the MRT/LEAP program.

The Enterolab tests cover most of the major food-sensitivities, and many people are able to gain remission by adjusting their diet according to the test results.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks Gabes and Tex. Clears that up for me. I have to send the test back to Enterolab today, and then wait for the results.
Gabes, much as I would like a quick fix, as an occupational therapist I know there is rarely one. I will have to do the hard work and go through the lapses just as you all did.

You have all showed me that there IS light at the end of the tunnel, whereas my GE only showed me an oncoming train. For that I am really grateful!
