Back Again.........

Post by starfire »

The week went well. Son-in-law hung a new storm door on the front of my house. Rainwater got into the old one (and it was plenty old) and it swelled up and wouldn't close. Got a new door to the basement. When we busted the old one apart to burn it we found it was moldy so I'm glad we did that. Got a few other things done but, wow, there is no end to what needs doing.

I ended up with a cold or something. Started Sunday and felt pretty bad yesterday but today was some better. Haven't done much today and I should have because we are supposed to get more rain starting tomorrow.

Pam & Todd made it home OK. Florida (where they live) had tons of rain from a tropical storm while they were here. What is it with these TS's lately!!! I sure hope it sort of plays out before it arrives here.

Hope everyone has had a decent week.

Hi Shirley,

It's wonderful that your daughter and son-in-law came to help you two out. I do hope things dry out for you and your neighbors soon.

Feel better.

Hi Shirley,

At least you're making some progress. That's not easy, when it continues to rain so often.

I have to agree that the rains are really getting out of hand - early Sunday morning, we had 2.1 inches of rain, the first measurable rainfall since the middle of July, and the biggest rain that we've had in over a year. I'm still in shock, and hardly know how to act.

I hope that cold fizzles out soon - you sure don't need that, when you've got so much to do.

Love,
Tex

Tex, I thought it looked like it was raining near you on the weather map one day. Sure glad it was. Hope more is coming your way (but not too much).

Sharaine.. Thanks for the nice message. I doubt I have welcomed you to the board before. I'd like to do that now. I hope you enjoy our "home" here as much as I do. The people here are so great. My "attendance" has been rather "spotty" for quite a while but I'm always thinking of you all.

Morning Shirley,

Just a bit at a time and it will get done. We in SE PA have definitely had our share of the rain. Will it ever end? it is pouring now.

Tex - so happy you finally got some rain. Now a bit more should help some.

Love, Maggie

Shirley,

Glad you're getting things back to 'normal' - and wonderful you had help. And yes, the clouds are coming again! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Great news that some clouds finally found their way to your area, Tex! Maybe we need to explain to them that a little here and there is just fine - 2+ inches at once is not required...

Sara,

Actually, 2 inches was fine with us. It was so dry here that the only water that ran off was the water that landed on pavement, concrete, or rooftops. Not a drop flowed down any of the creeks around here - they're still dry.

Well, in that case, I'm going to wave my arms at the gathering stormclouds here, and send them off your way!

I'll let you know how that goes

I'll make sure any storms that find their way here to Denver are waved down your way, Tex!

Shirley, thank you for the welcome. I do so appreciate it.
