well guess people just dont understand that Kait is NOT a FREAK just cuz she has had a brain tumor removed--years ago---functions to the fullest----knows how to cook meals--doesnt set the house on fire----doesnt crash the car while driving--knows how to speak ---and all the functions that need to be handled!!!!!!! has a college diploma----

Kait has been turned down at every apartment complex that she and Lynn have visited--cus they uh-oh C the plate in the side of her head--

NOW--Kait really feels like some freak of nature----

Yes, she has been thru megga shi*---yet she functions like a REAL HUMAN BEING!!!!!!!!!! cus she is a HUMAN BEING---nature struck her with a big blow--but with all the years Kait --even with her plate---Kait has shined in all glory~~~~~

Now Lynn is depressed---Kait comforts Lynn and the story goes on~~~~~

I'm so sorry that Kait continues to face discrimination. Fear of the unknown causes people to do unkind things.

I hope that both Lynn and Kait feel more encouraged soon.

You know Barabara the federal fair housing act is a law that would be in effect here, I would get in touch with a lawyer. My guess if the landlord gets a letter from an attorney they might change thier tune a bit. This is just discrimination. You could also get in touch with the cities housing council as they would also enforce the law here.

I agree with Joe - although she should not need to resort to these measures to find a home, a little reminding might be helpful. I am guessing she is not alone in this frustration, and drawing the attention of landlords to the law seems like a good start (and might make it unnecessary to draw the attention of the law to the discrimination... let us hope).

I hope this is the last setback for Kait.

I would print out a copy of this and 'remind' the landlord of the law...

I am a landlord--I have rental homes in Texas. It would never occur to me to discriminate against someone like Kait--the only thing I look for when renting is income, criminal record, and credit rating. I'm sorry Kait is facing these issues. It isn't fair, and should not be allowed. I hope that she can find a place soon.

I totally agree. The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) protects people like Kait. What those places are doing is illegal. She needs a lawyer. They can't turn her down.

So sorry Kait is a victim of discrimination - such a crying shame. It sounds like Kait and Lynn are close and fortunate to have each other - that's a true blessing. Hope something will turn up for Kait soon

I feel so bad for Kait and am sure you do not want to take the legal route but enough is enough when it comes to discrimination. Hope she finds something soon.
