At last, Dr. Mercola weighs in on gluten sensitivity. He has been a long-time proponent of eliminating all grains and fructose, but now he's looking at conditions caused/aggravated by gluten specifically. This is an interesting look at the link to ADHD.

I read the article, but I didn't see any new or compelling evidence to substantiate what he said. It seemed as though he was pretty repeating the same information that so many others have presented.
Or did I miss something? I too, believe that gluten is implicated, but where is the scientific evidence? No one seems interested in doing a truly definitive study that would lay all doubts to rest.
Regarding lectins: not only do all plants contain lectins, but all food contains lectins. In fact, every living creature on the planet, contains lectins, including humans. We can't avoid them all. The best we can do is to try to avoid the worst ones.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I agree he does not present anything new. I was just excited he presented it at all. He has a huge following and I've been waiting for him to address gluten sensitivity. I guess he's on the GF bandwagon now.

Now if he would stop promoting raw milk as a cure for everything that ails us, I'd be even more satisfied. Even if I could tolerate casein, I'm not sure I would drink it, unless I knew everything about the cow that produced it. Raw milk is readily available in Guatemala, but most non-indigenous people boil and process it before drinking. I'm encouraging my parents to try it raw and see how they feel, if they know how the cow is pastured and raised.

I have a friend with celiac who has a cow. She claims that her children and others who drink it don't react to it. I don't see how raw milk would differ in the quality of casein or lactose, but I'm pretty ignorant about it. I have been too brainwashed by the establishment to even take a swallow.

Pasteurization does to milk, what antibiotics do to the body - it destroys the good bacteria along with the bad. But more than that, it destroys all of the enzymes, including lipase, (needed for fat digestion), and phosphatase, (which is there to facilitate the absorption of calcium), so as a result of pasteurization, the calcium in milk effectively becomes unavailable.
