Just an update from the rather damp York!

Post by natythingycolbery »

Hi All,

Kind of went AWOL as the MC was in remission, and because I was working a ridiclous amount so spent the majority of my time asleep or at work. And realised I haven't updated you all on my life recently.

Things have, for the most part been good, very little stress in my life (apart from stupid questions from people who come into work!) and I have been plodding along quite contently, slowly saving up to go back to university.

However I have noticed over the past month or so that my symptoms do appear to be ever so slowly coming back to me. It seems to be when any stress hits, but I have noticed before that other people with this seem to have this issue too. I'm going to keep an eye on it and if it gets to the point I cannot function I will start looking into investigating this issue.

Now I have two bits of major news, one bad and one good... I would like to end my post on a positive though as positives are good!

In terms of bad news, one of the women that I work with (who i call my second mum) was diagnosed with spine cancer last week, everyone at work is in a state of shock at the moment as she is well loved by us all. We have been informed that as this is the second time that she has had cancer she may have a more difficult fight this time and it may be incurable. However we are all hoping for good news from all the tests she is currently going through.

And for my good news; I made a decision earlier this week to sponsor a child from Ghana through action aid. I found out yesterday that she is called Linda!

Love and hugs to all. Hope you are all keeping as well as possible.

Naty/Katy! Good to hear from you!

I'm happy to hear that things have settled down a bit for you. Sorry to hear about your co-worker - hope all goes well for her. And congrats on sponsoring Linda. That is such a lovely gesture - will you be able to write to her and receive responses?

Also, I hope the gut behaves and does not progress to a major flare. :xfingers:

Love,

Polly

Hi Naty,

I'm sorry to hear about your co-worker, and I wish her the very best with her treatment. And congratulations on sponsoring a child from Ghana.

I hope your symptoms don't get out of hand. If they continue to deteriorate, don't let things go too far before taking control measures.

Thanks for the update.

Love,
Tex

Hi Naty,

So glad to read an update from you. Wow - you're sponsoring a child - that's awesome, and something I've always thought of doing, but never have gotten around to. You're so young and still doing this, no wonder I find you to be such a delightful young lady.

Hope everything turns out well for your "second mum" - will send positive thoughts her way. Also, hope your symptoms will not develop into a flare. Keep us updated.

Love and hugs,
Kari

Katy,

Thanks for posting - I hope your MC luck holds firm, and no full-on flare is sneaking up on you. Please keep us posted about Linda - what a wonderful thing. And all my best thoughts go to your co-worker, and to all of you who care about her.

Always so nice to hear from you,

Sara

I wrote and posted a letter to her the other day. I struggled with what to say to her though as she is a complete stranger!

I'll see if i can upload a photo of her at some point in the not too distant future.

Also luckily no flare up yet!
