Post by beni »

hi, doing well just now reduced dose to 3endocort today 2 tomorrow ect, seem fine,so far so good, I have been writting to various eating places in mauritius asking about gluten free meals but its hopeless, the replys I get range from "so you can eat curry but not rice" to " no we dont serve free meals"!!!!!!!!!, any ideas? have printed off the ceoliac resturant flyer hope it helps, even people we know there who have visited europe seem clueless, will I have to cook everything I eat on holiday in a more than basic kitchen in high temperatures and high humidity for 7 weeks, if I have to I will but would like to be able to explain what gluten free is in easy terms so I can eat out sometimes, thanks Beni

IMO, you have to explain that you cannot have anything made with flour, or any other form of wheat, rye, barley, or oats. Some people don't know what the term gluten implies, because rice and corn also contain gluten, but it's in a different form, so it doesn't bother most of us. It's the type of grain that matters, which makes the term "gluten", confusing.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
