New foods

Post by Lesley »

I have to try others. Right now the C is hanging on tenaciously. I do NOT want the D to return, but I have to do something to get some action. I think I should reintroduce some fiber via veggies, and see what happens. No gluten, eggs, rice, corn or chicken. Just some veggies other than potatoes.

I made some wonderful beef stock ( a lot of work to get it strong and gelatinous, but worth it!) and might just use it to make a soup or a stew. Welcome change!

AND Dee, I received my flours. I am going to make the cinnamon crumb cake using chestnut flour. See what it's like.

Lesley,

That sounds like a good plan to try.

Good luck with it,

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I will let you know.

I am SO disgusted with my GE! To give him his due he might have been open minded enough to suspect and diagnose MC, but other than that? He will NOT open his mind to anything else.

I don't know what you are eating during the day lesley, but I remember from my last flare up this spring, I also went from D to C. To get the flare under control I only ate rice with chicken or fish and I drunk tea. Later I discovered especially the rice slows down the food passage in the GI track. I tried some of bulk formers (don't know exactly how you call them in the US), but those things you add to water, you have to drink a lot and it will swell up in your stomach/bowel. It did help but was not a success. In the end it got better by (what you are doing now) adding some vegetables to my food routine, first starting with very small amounts and one item per day, to see if it would cause trouble or not. So I hope this will solve your problem too, could luck with it.

I was doing that initially, but I wasn't getting better. When I got my enterolab results I found that rice and chicken are no-nos for me, so I went onto beef, lamb, turkey and potatoes, tea and a little stewed apple . Now I am in full C mode. 5 days and counting.

So now I start to add veggies, one at a time, and fruits one at a time to see what happens.

Thanks Harma. Glad you are doing better.
