Flare, Riboflavin, Lialda, and more

Post by Sharaine »

Hi Everyone,

I've missed you. It's been a couple of weeks since I have been online. Work has kept me very busy, plus I have been dealing with XD to the tune of 20 times a day for the last week.

Where to start. My neurologist put me on Verapamil to get my arteries to open up and hopefully make my headaches stop. He decided to add 400 mg Riboflavin (B2) to this. Since I was already on B100 complex, I just added 300 mg B2. Oh my oh my. I soon noticed that the little forms of poop I had began to be D. Then it regressed to XD. So, I quit the additional Riboflavin (B2) and tried to eat basic foods.

Then I saw my NP at my GE's office and she was concerned because I'm becoming dehydrated. So, since I was averse to going back on Entocort, she suggested I try Lialda. She was kind enough to give me samples to try it. Long story short, it only lasted 5 days ... the Lialda gave me stomach upset and did not impact the D at all. So, we talked by phone this week and I'm back on Entocort. I started it Wednesday. The D and XD is better, but it's going to take a while to get myself straightened out. It is time to make a pot of chicken soup.

Like Harma, I need to go shopping and buy applesauce, more bananas, my GF rice bread, and some chicken. I've been eating eggs with no problem that I know of.

On the positive side, and this is a POSITIVE THING, I haven't had a headache in 2 weeks. It's quite remarkable and wonderful!

Sharaine,

I'm sorry to read about the MC problems, but I'm very glad you finally have those headaches under control. Headaches truly suck.

And I hope you can get the MC back under control, soon.

Sharaine, thanks for the update - I've been wondering how you're doing.

Sorry to hear about the D - but no headaches sounds like a very good sign you're heading in the right direction.

Hope getting properly hydrated helps with *all* your symptoms... it seems as though you are closing in on managing multiple symptoms and conditions successfully.

Thinking of you & sending you good wishes - it was so nice to meet you in person, and I hope next time we meet you are in full remission and feeling fabulous.

Sharaine,

Well, that's good news and bad news. How wonderful that your headaches have stopped. It's unfortunate, but not extremely unusual that you've had to return to Entocort. You should find relief pretty quickly, however, and be able to use Entocort to learn what additional foods are the problem. I hope you can figure them out without too much guessing.
