Wow an actual answer from my senator!

Post by coryhub »

Dear Ms. (Corygut :-)

Thank you for contacting me regarding Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week. I appreciate having the benefit of your views on this issue.

As you may know, Senate Resolution 199 (S.Res. 199) was introduced on May 25, 2011. This resolution would support the goals of Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week. S.Res. 199 was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee for further consideration. Although I am not a member of that committee, you may be certain I will keep your thoughts in mind should S.Res. 199 or other relevant legislation be considered by the full Senate during the 112th Congress.

I appreciate having the opportunity to represent Texans in the United States Senate. Thank you for taking the time to contact me.

Sincerely,
JOHN CORNYN
United States Senator

PS: Does anyone know why I am waking up with hangovers and I don't drink? I wake up headachy and fatigued. Is it allergies or have I been gluttoned? Also which is better and safer on the tummy excedrin, tylenol, or ?? thanks y'all

Hi Cory,
PS: Does anyone know why I am waking up with hangovers and I don't drink? I wake up headachy and fatigued. Is it allergies or have I been gluttoned? Also which is better and safer on the tummy excedrin, tylenol, or ?? thanks y'all
I'll assume that was your PS, and not Senator Cornyn. Waking up with a headache and fatigue is a very common symptom of MC. It's possible that you are unintentionally ingesting enough gluten to cause a reaction, or you may simply not have had enough healing time, yet. If the symptoms are severe, you're probably eating something that is contaminated with gluten.

Tylenol is safe for MC'ers, (just don't take more than the labeled recommendations, and don't take it if you have any alcohol in your system, because of the risk of kidney damage). Excedrin is an NSAID, and causes an MC reaction for many/most of us.

 on getting a response from Senator Cornyn.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Yes, LOL! that was my PS: about the headaches. I'll switch to Tylenol because Excedrin is what I have been taking. I was reading how some people doubt the advise of this site at first, wondering if they are reading advise from kooks with all kinds of conflicting remedies or cult like obsession about their illness, but that was never my experience. I always trust the person who owns the car over the car salesman. You folk are my colitis family and I'm glad to be a part of this community. The proof is in the pudding when an ordinary person like me who never heard of colitis can login and follow your main tenants and most stated dietary rules and have the results I'm experiencing after a year of misery without guidance. I am thankful this holiday for many things of which you are one!

LOL on your PS!!

Excedrin is basically Tylenol plus aspirin and caffeine. Maybe you can do Tylenol with a caffeine source if you need it?

Cory,
Took me a while to stop laughing!

I have the same thing. Headaches, fatigue, which comes and goes during the day. Never quite go away, but gets worse towards the evening.

This place is my sanctuary. No one else understands what I am going through. No one else is willing to give me a shoulder, a hand, really good advice except the folks here. If I had NOT found it I would be eating everything, having non stop D, probably taking steroids and getting sicker and sicker.
