Shelf-Stable Silk Almond Milk

Post by Gloria »

I was thrilled to see Silk Almond milk on the shelves in the same section as other boxed milks. It isn't as cheap, but it doesn't need refrigeration. I noticed that the expiration date is about 4 months from purchase.

Not only was it available in 32 oz. cartons, but also in a four-pack of 1/2 pints, in vanilla and chocolate flavors.

These will come in handy for travelling.

I didn't notice whether coconut milk was on the shelf, too.

That's good news. I'll have to see if any of the local stores have it.

Thanks for the tip.

I have seen it here in one or two supermarket, together with the soy and rice milk, but very expensive. Like 4 or 5 JD, that is about 5 to 6 dollars I would guess.

Also in interesting thing about milk, one brand I see quite often is Saudi milk, I was wondering is this produced in Saudi Arabia, not what comes to my mind as a dairy country. Well yes it does come from saudi, but how it is made?. Like with juices, you read quite often made from fruit concentrate and added water. the same with this milk milkpowder diluted with water. That is the way they produce milk in Saudi Arabia.

I have seen So Delicious coconut milk in shelf stable packages. They even have single serve vanilla and chocolate milks for lunch boxes.
