It suddenly struck me that I have been taking calcium carbonate in powder form for the GERD, but calcium is constipating, isn't it? I am having such an issue with constipation and may be exacerbating it with the calcium, right?
So do I stop it? What do I do about it's effect on the GERD? Which is also driving me mad today. (I hope the hernia isn't back!)
Question?

Yes, some members have had success using Caltrate 600 to control D, I believe. I don't know if you can stop it, because of the GERD.
These are uncharted waters. A combination of things are contributing to the C, not just the calcium itself. It's impossible to guess how much influence the calcium is having.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
The norco is more constipating than the calcium. That's for sure. However, I am sure it does contribute

I don't know how to tell if I am still flaring or not, since I don't have D. The constipation is awful, and the other stuff is there too. Aches, pains, gas, bloating, foggy head. That means I am still flaring, right?
You mentioned shoulder pain. I have been having pain in the shoulder girdle. NOT the pain I have from the rotator cuff injury. Can pains in specific places also be attributed to MC?

Apparently.Lesley wrote:and the other stuff is there too. Aches, pains, gas, bloating, foggy head. That means I am still flaring, right?
Yes, and sometimes they're connected with specific foods. Eventually we figure out our own particular reaction patterns.Lesley wrote:Can pains in specific places also be attributed to MC?

I don't know what anything connects to. No clue. I would be so happy to figure it out.
My back is agony today, and the pain exhausts me. Big problem to separate the pain and exhaustion I had prior to MC (if there is prior to MC) from the post MC pain. I have noticed the shoulder girdle pain and that is definitely post MC dx.
