...but for all the people here who have successfully been in "remission" with MC, could you please explain to me what your "remission" feels like? I am hoping to control my MC with diet alone; however I don't know what a "remission" would be like. Would you feel like you did before you had MC? Do you have one normal bowel movement a day? Or is three normal? Are all your aches, pains, cramping, etc. completely gone or do you have residual discomfort? I guess I need a baseline of what people feel so I can hopefully get a general idea of what I might experience! Thanks!

This question was asked fairly recently. I'm unable to open another window to do a search right now. Perhaps someone else can find it.

Mandy
recently Tex set up a 'Members success stories' section.
A post I did recently titled 'is it worth it' during which we talked about what is remission

if you do a search of the archives of the board for the word 'remission' this may lead to you to a few threads

In fact, a search of the word "remission" on this board, just now, brought up 890 matches, one of which is:

Thanks Gabes and Tex! Yes, there are a lot of "remission" type posts! I have used the search before and it can be so daunting! Wish I had unlimited hours to browse through it, but alas, I don't. I do appreciate your replies, though!

Mandy,

We all have a limited amount of time that we can devote to this, so we have to apportion our time as best we can - virtually all of us have more to do than we can actually expect to accomplish, and not enough hours in the day in which to do it.

Everyone's individual interpretation of what remission means to them is sort of irrelevant to anyone else, because our symptoms are all so different, and our perception of our physical condition/status depends not only on our clinical symptoms, but even more so, it depends on our state of mind, and how we view our own situation.

Trust me, when you're in remission, you'll know it. If you're not sure - you're not in remission, because when you're truly in remission, one day you'll realize that you feel better than you've felt in at least 15 or 20 years. It's like an epiphany - and it amounts to getting your life back.
