Meat Cupcakes

Post by Gabby »

I saw "Meat Cupcakes" trending on Yahoo and thought of Sara. Sara didn't you invent the meat cupcake? Apparently it's the latest craze. Hmmm...

Gabby, thanks for thinking of me! I did indeed invent meat cupcakes... but apparently so did some other clever folks! (In fact, I made a batch yesterday to get me through the Thanksgiving prep.)

These are some great ideas - I'm personally more about flavor than cuteness, but it could be fun to jazz things up. A friend of mine has a recipe for a Thanksgiving cake - turkey meatloaf layers, mashed-potato icing on top, and layers of sweet potato and cranberry sauce between the layers. She could not imagine how to make this GF/DF. Sometimes, I genuinely feel sorry for people who've never had to adapt a recipe  This same excellent cook is totally stymied by the notion of substituting hazelnut flour for almond flour. (I wish I could get her just not to bake, quite honestly - she could just bring the wine!)

Sara,

The Thanksgiving cake sounds kind of weird to me but I bet it tastes good. I guess Paleo folks would use mashed cauliflower frosting instead of mashed potatoes. One could dream up all kinds of creations.

You know Sara, you could create quite an interesting blog with your ideas and recipe conversions. You would be good at that, too (blogging). You are a good writer and very creative.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Ooh, Gabby - thanks! I have a blog that has been much neglected, but I've been paying attention to it this month. I'll post it later, and thank you for those kind words!

I feel as though I'm not sure where it's headed yet, but am hoping to figure that out soon ;)

Sara,
I posted this blog:
http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/2 ... ffins.html
with her recipe for zucchini bread.
She is active on FB, and answers questions there.

I bet you could do something like that for paleo cookery.
