From my Gluten Intolerance Group. I wish I didn't have a conflict (dog obedience school) so I could go to all the meetings. Loved the two I was able to attend.

LOL, living with a PITA who also has therapy-dog potential. Maybe when he's 12.
The person who recommended we seek him out at the shelter said he was a handful with a heart of gold. And this is exactly true. I can imagine him passing the CGC test and still having moments of being a total PITA In Real Life... sigh. As you say, age and training. (Come to think of it, that may be working out with me pretty well, too!)
