WOW, Kari. What a response you had! I'm glad you are on the mend.
For me, I seem to tolerate butter in things fairly well, but milk immediately gases me up! Also, I had a tiny mozzarella cheese ball (think the size of a marble) two weeks ago. Within half an hour I had sudden onset of "tingling" in my brain, fog immediately set in, and my stomach started churning. I got a headache in both eyeball sockets that lasted a day along with some D.
Take care!

Kari, I'm so sorry you had that miserable experience. However, for me your post is timely.
I had decided last weekend that it was time to add some fiber back in my diet. I am now on 2 3mg capsules of Entocort per day and for the most part I have dealt with C more than D since starting Entocort in September. So on Sunday late afternoon I put a little (and I mean very little) broccoli with a little cheese sauce in white rice and ate maybe 1/3 cup. Monday I was generally ok, definitely some gurgling. However early Tuesday morning D arrived (it was a 3 Immodium day) so I backed off to BRAT, and the next day still had D (it was a 4 Immodium day) and I stayed with the BRAT although I was really hungry. Yesterday was okay, no D and I thought I had turned the corner but today at 4:30 a.m. the D was back. I thought 'surely it can't still be the broccoli or the cheese' but after reading your reaction.... maybe I should just be more patient and consider that a reaction really can go on this long. I didn't have strong nausea, but D and fatigue.
thanks for sharing your story and again, I'm sorry that you were so ill.

Kari,
What a relief to be doing better! I'm glad you're done with that flare and hope you don't have any more.
Sharaine,
It's amazing what little amounts of an intolerance can cause so much trouble.
Carol,
I hope you quickly begin feeling better and that this was a momentary setback.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
