anybody else a DQ1-0609?

anybody else a DQ1-0609?
I am a double DQ1. I have one 0602 and one 0609. Does anyone else carry a 0609? Not that this really makes a difference in anything--I'm just curious. That particular gene is practically unheard-of in European descendants, and being the genealogy buff I am, I'm wondering WHERE I got that gene!

The location of the search box connected with that windows search function depends on the browser being used, and how it's set up. I'm using Firefox 8.0, for example, and the "find" box is in a separate search toolbar, just above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
Good point, though, that is indeed a fast and easy way to search any individual page on this, (or any), site).

Cynthia, if you plug 0609 into Google, you will see some interesting things. Apparently 0609 is a very old and possibly rare allele, found in Ashkenazi Jews, Africa, and proximal regions of Eurasia.

Yes, I did google it--fascinating! If I could only get my parents tested, then I'd know which family tree to go barking at!
Another interesting thing--I found a study that confirmed an increased incidence of aspirin allergy in people with 0609. I wonder if that might go hand-in-hand with the NSAID and SSRI issue. My symptoms have been around for years, but greatly increased while I was on an SSRI and dramatically improved after I stopped taking it. Of course, I don't take NSAIDs either due to the link with them and MC, but it makes me think that the same genes that predispose us to gluten sensitivity might also predispose us to NSAID allergy. Hmmm...
