I looked at the labels on the frozen veg in my freezer. NONE grown in China. Phew! I guess the exec did know what he was talking about.

OTOH I recently saw a video on the produce at WF. The boards on which the prices are written are NOT handwritten daily, which is the impression they are designed to give. They are printed. And the produce is NOT fresh daily. It is stored in warehouse cold rooms and is probably at least 2 weeks old when it hits the store.

Deb, I have been buying grass fed beef and lamb (NZ lamb is grass fed by law), and also enjoying it, especially since that's basically what I can eat. I just invested in a small freezer (very small) so I can buy meat in bulk. It's way cheaper than getting it at the store. I am going to share with some friends so I don't have more than I can store.

Lesley, that's good to know about the lamb. I've never bought that in bulk before. I'm a huge fan; DH not so much.

So you can eat it while hubby eats something else. I love lamb, so I don't mind eating it. I miss poultry. It was the basis of my protein intake so I have had to make a total change.

 Lesley, I agree! It's funny, when I am gone he's out eating pizza, etc. When he is gone I'm out buying lamb chops!
