Enterolab testing
Hi friends,
Just curious as to whether or not Enterolab has offered any new tests since the soy test came out. That's the last time I was tested with them as I'm doing so well. Have always intended to test for additional foods should any new food tests with them come out, just in case.
Wow, been thinking, since the new calendars came out, that this is my year to have the routine colonoscopy again. It will be 10 years in September since I had the original one which was my very first one ever. The thought of that just made my New Year...NOT!!!
OK, so are their any new Enterolab allergen tests out now..since the soy, I mean???
Take care and thanks! Luce

Lucy,
It will be interesting to see what your next colonoscopy shows--do tell us! I imagine it will look very different from 10 years ago!
I don't know what tests Enterolab was doing when you were tested, but now they have one for gluten/casein/egg/soy and another test for 11 other common trigger foods. The 11 antigen test is not as specific as the "big 4" test, but expresses results in relative sensitivity. There is also a genetic test for celiac and NCGS genes, a fecal fat test, and an anti-transglutamase test (I probably said that wrong!). Many of us have done Panel B, which combines the "big 4" and the genetic test. I would love to do the 11 other foods too, but will have to save my pennies for that one.

Hi Luce,
As Shirley said, it's nice to see a post from you again. I hope things are going smoothly down in Houston.
Here's a link to information on the 11 antigenic foods test that Cynthia mentioned:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Lucy, if you're going blind, so am I. LOL
But seriously, I don't know if you know but just press ctrl and then hit the plus sign and the print will get larger every time you hit the plus. Use ctrl and the - (minus) sign to reduce the size. I can't live without those little tools!
