Definitely. That mold has antibiotic properties that eventually led to the discovery of penicillin.

tex thanks for your explanation and yes you are right about the mold and the discovery of penicillin. You see, how "stupid" things of the past turned out to be not so stupid at all.

Harma - that wasn't stupid. That was super smart! They cured wounds that people in the so called Renaissance couldn't cure.

And they were a lot smarter than we are. They used LOCAL "antibiotics" instead of systemic ones like we do that wipe out the healthy bacteria in our GI tracts. As we well know, this can lead to MC! :roll:

My husband had to have quite a few stitches one time and the wound reopened~he packed it with Brown sugar and wraped it ~ It healed
