Jenny,

I'll bet there were some "high greens" - have to watch out for those as well. Are you working with a dietitian?

Good luck with Phase 1 - look forward to hearing about your progress.

Jenny,

It's interesting that you were red reactive for wheat and yellow reactive for cow's milk and eggs. I don't think that many of us have tested reactive on the MRT to those the standard foods tested via Enterolab.

Yellow reactive to chicken and pork - that's probably a surprise for you. I was highly reactive to chicken and was very surprised. Several of us members have tested or determined that we are reactive to chicken. We might have to rethink the elimination diet, which recommends chicken and rice as basic foods.

The good news is that you now have a pretty good road map to follow so that you can achieve remission.

Yes, I was very surprised about the chicken! I kind of assumed the eggs but then surprised again with the honey.. I really think I have a leaky gut situation going on right now. Hopefully sticking to the diet and doing what my nutritionist tells me will led me to remission. Fingers crossed!

Hi Jenny,

Glad you got your MRT results back - waiting is always so hard. Hope there are not too many disappointments in your list of reactive foods. I found MRT to be very useful in terms of figuring out a starting point in my diet. Hopefully your dietitian has experience with MC and its many "quirks". I did not find my dietitian very helpful, as she lacked specific knowledge about MC (which Mary Beth has in abundance), so I ended up mostly working on my own.

The key is to get your system stable, so if that means that you have to stay with a simple diet for longer than you anticipate, it's well worth it. After deleting all the reactive items from my diet, I saw quick results, which was very encouraging. Lots of luck to you as you continue on your MC journey. I look forward to following your progress.

Love,
Kari

Dear Jenny,

Good luck with the new eating strategy. I hope you find the things that you can and can't tolerate quickly.

Wow. That's a tough list. Lots of my favorite foods! I do beleive that once you get the leaky gut situation out of control, you'll be able to eat many of them again.

I'm back to eating small amounts of butter in baked goods with no problem!

Zizzle,

As far as I can tell, I am totally asymptomatic to casein, but my recent test showed a result of 24, which is pretty high, IMO, considering that I didn't eat a lot of it. Since I've cut it totally out of my diet, again, I can't tell any difference. It's out of my diet for good, though.
