MRT

Post by Lesley »

Tomorrow I meet the nutritionist who will work with me on the MRT. I can't do the full program. It's way beyond my means, but Meg will work with me, and Mary Beth will advise her. Thanks heavens for terrific people!!

The enterolab tests gave me a place to start. I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure out that the chicken and rice I was living on were forbidden foods without them.

I need to find out what else is doing damage and cut it out. I have been doing this long enough, and have eliminated so many foods. Now I think I need a little more guidance for fine tuning.

So here goes!

"MEDIATED RESPONSE TEST

"When you have an allergy to a food you know it right away! Many people can tell you about peanuts or MSG, headaches and more. Those reactions can lead to death, it can be very serious.

Food Sensitivities are just as serious, but much more difficult to detect. Until now; a simple blood test can expose your sensitivities from a list of 120 foods and 30 chemicals. Eliminating these from you diet will reduce the STRESS placed on your body. Reduced stress can be responsible for improving the quality of your life.

This test looks at the mediators from your white blood cells. It will help you identify even the healthiest of foods that may be causing you problems. Just because you are eating organic and or the best quality and healthiest diet ever, does not mean you are not ingesting a food that it is hurting you every time you eat it. It might be the last food you suspect! Maybe Rice? No way? Yes, it could be rice…

Sensitivities can be responsible for inflammation which can be at the root of many illnesses. Take a simple blood test and STOP ingesting foods and chemicals that are creating stress and havoc in your gut! You'll receive a full diet plan and coaching."

Check out the PP heading MRT.

Good luck, Lesley and keep us posted. I'm eager to hear how it goes for you. I hope it's just what you need to get back on track.

Thanks guys,

I really need to figure this out. There are so few foods left after the enterolab testing. The dietician (Megan - NICE!) said once the results come back we would have to sort through everything carefully so we can figure out a few things I can eat.

I totally understand where you are at Lesley.

I am considering MRT testing also since I have tried adding foods back in and then backslide. Doing much better than years ago though. Now weird problems that I am attributing to food. Just need to be able to afford the MRT and that is not easy with one person retired.

Good luck to you.

Love, Maggie

I had the blood test this morning. It's gone to the lab. Now to wait for the results.

Maggie, it's expensive. I had budgeted for $600, which is what I was told when I asked here. Turned out more than double that to do the whole program. No way I could manage that. Meg offered to work with me for that, consulting with Mary Beth because she has no experience with it.
I am SO grateful to them both. I so want to get a handle on this.

Meantime the GERD goes on and on.....

It's more than $1200 now? They're going to find they have fewer customers at that price.

Totally out of the question for me even at $600. Will just stick with what I am doing.

Good luck with the results, Lesley. It will be nice to get a direction, and start getting your whole body feeling better.

The following is part of the email I receive for the MRT testing:

From: Kurt Sohn <kurt>
Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 10:07 AM
Subject: Re: LEAP:MRT FOOD SENSITIVITY TESTING

Hi Deb,
The cost for the 150 profile is $495 or $795 with a dietian. We can send you tubes for a collection and anyone who is willing can do the collection. Dietians will in most cases be working with you by telephone, this allows us to connect you with our most experienced ones. It is not necessary to go through a provider who is in your area, everything can be handled by FedEx, e-mail, or phone. The only thing that is usually set up local is the blood collection. Please contact me anytime.
Best Regards,

I was hoping to get it covered through my health insurance but I can't get my GI to approve it. Even at $495, it will take some saving to just get results without the support.

I'm glad you were able to get the test started Lesley. I pray you get the results you need so you know for sure what you need to eliminate. Best of Luck to you!

Wow! Maybe it's LA. Only 2 dieticians showed up as LEAP trained when Mary Beth put the call out. Maybe they think they can really charge because there are very few of them.

I suppose I need to be clear that my $600 buys me what I need from this. Part of it is my birthday present from Adam, who knows what I am going through. Instead of taking me out to dinner. Oh, what things have come to!

Maggie - I know the feeling. I saved for it. When I was told well over $1200 I said no thanks. One dietician let it go at that. The other offered to work with me for that with not as many f/u sessions. Believe me, I have 10 places to put that money.
Maybe find out where Jen did it so reasonably.
Reasonably - $400 is also a lot of money, but it's better than any of the other prices.

My oesophageal problems are horrible. I am having difficulty with the whole tract, so I need to find out how I start healing at least in part of it. That's why I am making the effort.

Everyone needs to check the cost in their area . . . I am assuming that it is because it is LA - usually is not that expensive.
