I had to find my own provider for the blood work, so I went to Lab Corp. It cost me $10 for the blood work. This was 2 years ago. Lab Corp sent the blood samples to Signet. Signet sent the results to the dietician, who in turn sent them to me. The dietician charged me $650 for her services and the testing for 150 foods.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
I checked the two major health care networks in my area and both do not participate in the LEAP program so the prices I was quoted was directly from Signet Labs in Florida. I didn't check any providers in bigger cities nearby because if I have to travel to an out of network service and take time off work and pay for gas I might as well work direct with Signet. I was trying to figure how to have my blood drawn and I'm going to try the EMTs where I work. Hopefully one will volunteer to draw blood once I have my pennies saved up.
It's hard to put a price on feeling healthy. It's disappointing how healthcare can put such a dent into day to day budgets.

Yes, those results will change over time. Mary Beth posted about changes in her test results about 6 weeks ago. Her tests were 3 years apart, and the results were quite different.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
The reason I re-tested was because I developed a new symptom that was inflammatory (arthritis in my fingers). So I would say the time to re-test is if you again started to feel bad or a new symptom cropped up.
I am happy to report that the nodules on my fingers are decreasing in size. I was reacting to chicken, beef and pork per the recent MRT. I wasn't doing a great job if rotating my proteins, mostly because I was avoiding seafood due to histamines. I am now eating more seafood since histamine is not an issue at the moment and I beleive it is helping.
BTW, the new version of MRT is now out as of about a week ago.

i am sure you can not wait to get some answers and clarity and get some guidence to move forward and escape the GERD hell.
with the daily ranitidine tablets and the reduction in other things causing histamines, my gerd is again almost non existant.
I also consider myself pretty lucky to have access the BIA (kinda like MRT blended with acupuncture) it only costs me $40 a visit, and with that i get info on current top issues in my body, (including things like infection, parasites, organs that are lagging) checking individual ingredients for sensitivity level and doing treatments to reduce the sensitivity to ingredients.
how long till you get the results?

Gabes,
I most certainly am waiting to be released from the GERD hell! I am sure what I have is rather more than GERD right now. I went off Nexium cold turkey. It never occurred to me to go slow on it, and my docs didn't tell me. I now think I have rebound, and possibly Barrett's, though my doc won't test me for it.
I am SO glad the ranitidine has helped you. That's terrific. Getting rid of it is a dream come true!
I have been taking ranitidine 2x a day, but it barely helps. I hope when I get the results of the MRT things will get a bit better. I hope I will have something left to eat.
The BIA sounds COOL! What does it stand for? I am guessing the A is acupuncture? I wish they had that here!

i went looking for something like MRT in Aus, but they dont have it, and then i found the BIA, Bio Impedence
the write ups are here:
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewt ... hlight=bia
joe's is here - Joe has done both MRT and BIA
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewt ... hlight=bia
there is no perfect med, or treatment, or test. We just have to use the tests/treatments/meds we can afford and take it a day at a time....
