Catch up

Post by Gabes-Apg »

hi there all!

to all the newbies - welcome
to all the birthdays i missed, belated happy birthday and bucket loads of good health for the year ahead
to those with symptoms i hope they abate soon
and to those having a great week ! enjoy the awesomeness

i am doing ok, i am halfway through the med change that should eliminate majority of the histamine issues, (and the myriad of symptoms that came with that). I am already noticing major improvement with the tachycardia and edema, so far the weeks of upheaval have been worth the effort.

had an amazing experience this week, we had an auditor onsite for two days and it turns out that she is GF/DF/SF/YF avoiding fructose etc.
it was like finding a long lost cousin! any spare minute we spent discussing our eating plans, leaky gut etc, and i have sent her some of the articles about histamines. I was the first person that she had met face to face that also follows such a strict eating plan. I assured her that she was not alone and there were many wise people doing the same thing!

take care

That's wonderful Gabe, and i hope you and your friend will be able to stay in touch. It's nice to have someone to talk to who is understands.

Hi Gabes,
I am so happy to hear that you are doing so well and the meds are working for you.

I bet it was nice talking to someone who has the same issues. Comparing notes and sharing recipes with someone who understands are few and far between.

My granddaughter (Jaclyn) and husband may be flying your way in May or early June. They have friends who were just married and moved to Brisbane. Jaclyn figured now is the time to go before they get pregnant.

Keep up the good work Gabes.

Shirley/Nancy
it is a bit of a cruel happiness, there is a level of sadness that there is another person dealing with chronic digestion issues.

May/June in Brisbane is a great time of year, it is technically winter but Brisbane Winter would be like a Massachusetts/New Hampshire Spring. I am sure they will have a great time. I go down to brisbane every 6 - 8 weeks.

Hey Gabes,
It is good to hear from you! Happy to know you are making progress. Tachycardia can be scary stuff, or at the least unsettling. It would be cool to meet someone who is 'gets' how it is to be GF/SF/etc, etc. Most of us have to relate through this site but like you, I would really get a kick out of talking to someone face to face who is facing many of the same challenges. It's an inspiration (for her and for you) to meet someone who is managing their life and a demanding job in spite of the health challenges they face.

Take care and keep in touch,
Carol

Cruel happiness... what a great way to put it.

I'm so glad to hear about these health issues being resolved, Gabes. I knew you were facing some additional challenges, and I was concerned about you. One thing I really appreciate about this board is how people don't give in to fatalism about their health. You are a poster child for that with the way you fight to be the best and have the best.

i will be glad when it is not a fight or a challenge....... :horse:
and i can put the sword away

most of my success is thanks to the wonderful people here, the knowledge shared and the support is what confirmed most of my situations and gave me the clear path.

Great hearing from you Gabes and glad things are pulling together health wise for you. Also happy that you found someone who understands the situation we are in - they are few and far between.

Continued improving health and love.

Hi Gabe,
Glad to hear your recent efforts are paying off.
How nice it must have been to meet someone in the flesh who eats a similar diet. I have not run into anyone who has even heard of Colitis let alone is dealing with it. That's why I gravitate to this online site more and more because I need to know I am not alone. It would be nice to meet others face to face and there probably is some kind of Colitis Convention that I don't know about. Maybe we can all get together at Tex's book signing party!
