Quick question: If Pepto-Bismol and aspirin both make my ears ring something fierce, does anyone know if I will be able to take 5-ASA's? It's my understanding that 5-ASA's are Kaiser's first line of defense after Pepto, but it looks like they are salicylates, and I think my reaction to the other two means these are out of the question.
Thoughts?

You've probably assessed the situation correctly, IMO. It isn't necessarily chiseled in stone, but I suspect that the odds are probably pretty high that any of the mesalamine-based drugs will cause similar problems, if both bismuth subsalicylate and aspirin cause problems.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
