Paging Gloria

Post by Polly »

Hi, my double DQ 1 friend,

Just wondering how things are going with you? I am still finding that I have to avoid all red and yellow MRT foods to be symptom-free, as well as all grains/pseudograins/dairy/legumes. The past few days I have eaten some coconut sorbet that contains guar gum (a legume) and find that I just cannot tolerate it - fatigue, muscle aches, sleep disturbances, etc. Sigh. Some things never change, I guess.

Because of your consistently-expressed concern and sympathy, I wanted to let you (and others here on the Board) know that my brother George died on Feb. 20th after a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. It has been quite difficult dealing with the loss of a sibling. You expect grandparents and parents to die, but it is more of a "whammy" when it is a sibling, I am finding. I am feeling devastated right now. He spent the last 18 days in residential hospice, and the staff was wonderful. On the night he died, the nurse called me to tell me that his breathing was erratic but to take my time coming in and that she and another nurse would sit with him until I arrived. Such compassionate people. Angels, to be sure.
Love,

Polly

Polly I am so sorry. I knew your brother was ill, and wondered how he was .

Cancer is so cruel. I know what you feel like and I sympathize. The pain never goes away, but there comes a time when you can remember without your breath feeling like a knife stab.
Take care of yourself.

Hi Polly,

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how difficult it is to lose a sibling as I lost my youngest sister a couple of years ago. You are in my prayers. Time will ease the pain. You will then be able to look back at the good memories you shared.

Hugs,
Paula

Polly, no words can express my sorrow in the passing of your dear brother. Jesus, I lift Polly's pain of losing her brother into your capable hands. Grant her the calm and peace she needs in her time of grief. Lord, send guardian angels to cover and protect her and I ask, in your mighty name, to bless her with supernatural healing. Amen.
