I just want to thank you all again for all the support and great information I've gotten here. I've been doing well and am maintaining on probiotics, l-glutamine and being gf/df/sf. Entocort ended in mid December and I still don't think it was a miracle drug for me.. I am back to eating all fruits and veggies.
I've been riding my bike inside and finally outside yesterday in preparation for our annual "Bike Ride Across Nebraska " in June. That's were my chronic gut stuff really started going bad last year! My husband has been gf for years which made eating on a week long ride challenging (I'm talking some real small farm towns as overnight stays..)..but with my issues now it looks like I will be making and freezing all of our breakfasts and dinners this time! Fortunately my son and nephew have been our chase crew the past few years so we have a camping stove... For all you Texans out there we will be rolling through the Dallas area for a 2 day MS 150 ride in late April..my brother in law lives there and is one of those crazy triathlon types.
So, thanks again for all the information and support..as you can see I am getting my life back..

Congratulations! It sounds as though you've got things under control, and you're doing quite well.
Thanks for posting an update, and I hope you have the best of luck in the "Bike Ride Across Nebraska".

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Nancy, don't be too impressed with my riding ability! The Nebraska ride is something I live through every year..about on day 3 I'm always asking myself why in the world I am torturing myself like this!!! You definitely learn alot about yourself though..and I know I would not have made it as a pioneer woman out on the plains with the wind howling all the time! I truly would have gone insane...fortunately my ancestors made it through.
Great folks involved in all capacities on that ride though and it is a huge deal for a town to be an overnight host...it certainly takes everyone just to have enough food for the 600 riders and all the associated support crew. Churches, veteran's groups, school groups and even the sheriff's office get into the act of serving up food....some towns do a great job, others..not so much! Gluten free is definitely starting to pop up on the radar, but its not something you can count on at all. I'm the one with the rack on my bike carrying hubby's food during the day usually..this year it will just have more food in it..

I'm pretty impressed that you've been off Entocort for 3 months and are still doing well. It sounds like you've beaten the beast! It's interesting that you are taking L-glutamine. How long have you been taking it and did you notice a difference as a result?

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Gloria..
I started taking l-glutamine in August last year when things were horrible and I couldn't get out of the house! I learned about it on the Internet before I knew anything about MC. I actually have been taking it religiously since then except when I was taking the Entocort. I never could get off immodium when on Entocort..so I restarted it in January's again. I take 2 grams three times a day on an empty stomach..which usually means I'm doing that at work and my fellow therapists give me grief about my "white powder"..
