Your doctor might be willing to order celiac cross-reactivity blood testing for you from Cyrex Labs. Mine did, and it was covered by insurance. The test showed I was highly reactive to sesame seeds, which I never suspected. My remission started shortly after cutting sesame seeds from my diet.

Beth, you're most welcome.
Believe me, my budget is shot to hell because of this insistence on grass fed meats. I go into the local Ralph's and see the prices for prime beef (especially on sale!), which I know TASTES delicious, but I also know what it brings along with it I find it hard to stick to my guns.
But it's worth it. I see the results in my blood tests. I am eating meat, potatoes, coconut milk and that's about it for now. I branched out a little, but felt so rotten I have gone back. Not that I feel better right now

The WF #5 chickens are included in the grass fed category. They have the nutrients you need. Just stick to them and your baby will be FINE!
Much of your aversion to food might be from your pregnancy and not from the MC. My last pregnancy I could not go near grapefruit all the way through, and peas also made my stomach churn.

I am about to start on the LEAP program, and am hoping I get some relief through the rotation diet.

Hmmmmm. Now that's an interesting observation. Does your first daughter have any of the classic allergies?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Beth,
are you on medication while pregnant. My doctors tell me that they think it is better to stay on medication during the pregnancy b/c a flare would be worse then the medication

Hi Belle - I'm not on meds, but I would like to be! Waiting for the sig results that the GI will do in a couple of weeks to confirm the decade old diagnosis of MC.

I believe that she's referring to the results of a sigmoidoscopy exam that she has scheduled.

Yes, the sigmoidoscopy I'll be having in two weeks. Sorry for the confusion.

Interesting question, Tex. My first daughter doesn't seem to have outward allergies, but her daughter has excema. DD1 had a cold with a persistent cough last week and I suggested she go to the doctor to see if she had pneumonia. She replied that she's always reluctant to go to a doctor for fear she'll be prescribed an antibiotic and end up with MC like me. She may have symptoms that she's not reporting to me.

It's my second daughter who has all of the classic problems: IBS (which went away after her pregnancies), Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and just recently, she was diagnosed as diabetic like her dad. The IBS has returned now that she's increased her Glucophage medication. I've written before that she's very overweight, a common problem with PCOS.

I guess my chocolate abstinence didn't help her for very long. :???:
