The test results are in... :-(

Post by natythingycolbery »

Before I give you my slightly long list of foods that I can no longer consume, I'd best explain the scoring system of the Intolerance test that I have done;

It is similar to the MRT tests that others have done, only the presence of an intolerance is scored in the following ratings;

0- No reaction
Borderline (between 0-1)
1- Reaction
2- Reaction
3- Reaction
4- Reaction

Basically the higher the number the higher the reaction... so I now bring you my test results.

2-Cows Milk, Wheat

1- Acai Berry, Anise Seed, Beetroot, Gluten , Grape (Pinot Gris/Grigio), Hemp, Lime, Melon Mix, Orange, Yeast.

Borderline- Barley/Malt Mix, Grape (Chardonnay), Grape (Chenin Blanc), Grape(Red/White Zinfandel Mix) Grape (Sauvignon Blanc), Lemon, Lychee, Potato and Rooiboss (Redbush tea)

I now need to make an appointment with a nutritionist from the lab to start to sort my life out around this, they are providing a lot of support for it.

What an odd list! Are you a big wine drinker??? The results don't look so bad, well, except for gluten and dairy...

And what is Melon Mix?

Luckily no I'm not a wine drinker.

Melon mix is basically every type of melon, they just count it as one food on the test.

I also expected Gluten and possibly wheat and yeast, the others are a bit of a suprise- especially potato- I LOVE POTATOES! But reading through all the literature I have I can still eat the foods that are borderline but they may have minor side effects.

No three or fours. That's pretty good news. It sounds like your borderline stuff can probably be consumed once your inflammation is gone. good luck

Hi Naty,

Sorry to hear about your test results. With your MC diagnosis, it's not surprising that you're reactive to gluten and dairy, and I have a feeling that deep down you knew it:(. It seems that gluten should have been a 2 along with wheat??? Anyhow, I'm sure you'll save yourself a lot of potential problems down the road by tweaking your diet at your young age. The initial transition is a bit tough, but once you get into a routine about it, it gets easier. Best of luck to you as you start your new eating plan.

Love,
Kari

The list looks pretty do-able to me. Wheat and dairy are your worst offenders, and it's pretty common among us to eliminate them. Potatoes are borderline, so you should be able to have them occasionally. Lime and orange are both citrus foods, so you probably need to watch them. It's a good thing that you don't drink wine. That looks off-limits.

All in all, I think it's a pretty decent list.

Yeah, tbh I was expecting Gluten to score a lot higher than it did, however, I have cut down on it in recent weeks which may be a contributing factor.

The only results that suprised me where potatoes, oranges and hemp! I didn't know I had eaten hemp!
