Hi Cathy and welcome to the group. A far as a recommendation, I think I hit the jackpot big time with my GI doctor, Dr Nagri at the Dartmouth Hitchcock center in Nashua NH. His phone number is 603-577-4081. He is excellent, deals with MC including dietary intolerances and will support you with meds and nutrient testing, like vitamin levels etc. he believes in very thorough biopsies during a colonoscopy and will work with you to come up with a treatment plan
There is another member on the board NancyL that lives in Northern Mass. who also sees Dr Nagri for MC.
I would highly recommend him.
Where in Maine are you located? I love Maine and have a vacation house in Georgetown (north of Brunswick)

Hi Joe and thanks again for the welcome. I live on a farm in Windham, just outside of Portland. Georgetown is beautiful! I have to check with my insurance about going out of state but really feel as though I'd like a second opinion. Thanks for the contact information for Dr. Nagri and I'll let you know if I can get an appt. with him.Joefnh wrote:Hi Cathy and welcome to the group. Cathy Windham is a beautiful town, you are lucky to live there and on a farm...sounds like heaven. Depending on insurance, you should be able to get an appt. I would call Dr Nagris office and give them the insurance info and they will help you setup the insurance and appointment information.
NancyL had the same questions about insurance and working with Dr Nagris office was able to get an appt in just a week or so. Most NE insurance companies will work with each other for cross state lines appts. Being in Portland its not 'close', but its only about a 90 minute drive. If you do come down this way, let me know and maybe we can get Nancy and her husband to join us and go to a good gluten free local restaurant and say hello.
Take care
