I'm watching too. I know Tex lives south of the area and according to mapquest it's over 100 miles, so I assume he is OK. Praying so and praying for the people involved in the storms.

Hi Jenny and Shirley,

All the activity so far seems to be way north of here, though we are in the same tornado watch area. I live over a hundred miles south of where the tornadoes struck. Hopefully, nothing more will develop.

Thanks.

Love,
Tex

Praying they don't come your way Tex. They look like real bad ones.

I am right between where two tornadoes touched down. A lot of damage and some injuries reported so far. We are getting hail right now. I'm sending my husband to pick up our granddaughter at school in about half an hour, so DIL doesn't have to go out in the bad weather with the baby.

Oh, Martha!! I forgot you live there! I'm so sorry. I hope it will all ease up real quick. So glad you weren't in the direct path.

Can't forget Mary Beth, another Texan. Check in when you can Mary Beth and let us know how you fared.

Saw the video of tractor trailers flying in the wind like kites...wow!

Good wishes being sent to all our friends in Texas!

The line of thundershowers has dropped down much farther south as the dry line approaches us, and it's about 20 miles west of us at the moment. So far, I don't see anything severe on radar, but the showers just popped up, on this end of the line, so we'll soon know, I suppose.

Martha, I hope the worst is past, by now. These storms are pretty violent for so early in the year - I suppose that comes with an early summer weather pattern.

Mary Beth should be safe, since she lives way down on the coast, and the line probably won't reach that far.

All we had here was a light rain shower.

We're okay, as is my son's family. A tornado touched down about 3 miles from DIL's parents, but their home was untouched.

There's been a lot of damage all around.

My hometown of Dexter, Michigan, was hit two weeks ago by tornadoes (I'm sure you all saw it on national T.V.) This year has been crazy with wild weather already...may we all stay safe!

We seem to be having May weather, a month early, this year, but here in Central Texas, our weather has been at least a month to 6 weeks ahead of schedule, ever since about December. All in all, except for the recent bad weather, it's been unusually nice. Last year, we didn't actually have a spring, around here - it went directly from winter to summer.
