A Canadian man has carried out a bizarre 'faecal transplant' on himself - and claims it worked.

Despite the typical claims by the doctor in that article, about how dangerous this is to do outside a hospital, (naturally, they're going to try to discourage patients from trying to horn in on their turf), instructions on how to do this yourself are available online, and written by a doctor, no less:

Dr. Silverman describes 7 cases, where the patients used a low volume enema, to treat themselves at home. All cases successfully eliminated their C. diff infections, and none of them had any complications, as a result of the procedure. Obviously, it ain't rocket science.

Before finding my home here at this forum, I had read about this type of treatment on another forum list for UC. If I remember correctly, the treatment often has to be done repeatedly (a month or more) for a positive result, so doing so at home is the most practical. It was working for those trying it. :)
