I'm happy to report that with treatment of mast cell issues I've been able to reduce my Entocort to 1 3mg cap a day and I'm about to start two days on one day off to see if I can reduce to zero.... :0) There have been some issues due to nuts so nuts are off the menu. Lately I've been enjoying butter beans, Pamelas pancakes, chicken and rice soup with carrots and onions, an occasional egg, coffee black, coconut milk with banana's and blue berries, apples, a little chicken, coconut oil and lots of water. I should keep a diary but haven't for a while...so that's all I can remember...I'm pretty sure that's all. Often I have no appetite for meat.
I was wondering if anyone here has done any juicing and if anyone has tried the Gerson diet and therapy. I did a search and found one reference so if there's more please point the way for me.
Any thoughts?

Hi Jenny :0)
Currently I use Benadryl and Histame which is a dietary supplement...food intolerance support. Other than that just diet.
Here is a link to the discussion when I started to look into mast cell issues...

Gay,
Good luck with tapering the Entocort. If you have any problems with symptoms returning, you might look at the Pamela's Pancake Mix, (which contains cultured buttermilk, as I recall), and the bananas and chicken. All of them contain a lot of histamines. Chicken may be OK if it's extremely fresh, but it picks up histamine in a hurry, when stored under refrigeration. Leftovers are almost always a problem for anyone with mast cell issues. Histamines may be the reason why you had problems with nuts, because most nuts are also high in histamines.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks Tex,
I realized when I posted the link to our previous discussion that I'd strayed off diet further than I realized. Back to basics again...I want to use Better Than Bouillon to make the stock for soup but it has dried whey etc. I'll have to visit our menu forum for alternatives. Those smoothies were good...
I'm still better than before.
My toes are on the mark again :0)
