Hi,
As I mentioned in my earlier post for the first time I'm seeing a clear mucus with blood attached (blood is not on the stool). colonoscopy was clean sig. biopsy showed MC .
Things are a little better today just one of the BM's had a slight amount of bloody mucus but I also saw a white substance almost like toilet paper in the stool and floating in the water.
God, I can't believe the things I'm writing about lol
Thank you,
KK

Kitty LOL...I love the title of your post and it took me a good 6 months to even feel remotely able to talk about stuff like this. What is it we are taught as children...these are not topics talked about openly....that works just fine right up to the point you get sick...
It still sounds like a mucous related substance and the whiteish color seems to indicate a possible buildup up lymphocytes as in a reaction to inflammation or an infection. All of this would be normal for an inflammatory process and possibly an infection. I would certainly make sure to get in touch with your doctor about these issues.
This whole process is interesting isn't it?? We certainly end up expressing ourselves in ways we never thought of before.
Hang in there Kitty....it really does get better. Be sure to talk with your doctor about all of this as well.

Kitty,
I would assume, (without looking it up), that an "active hemorrhoid" implies an inflamed, swollen, internal blood vessel. It's swollen and inflamed
because of the syndrome that causes active MC, and after you get your MC symptoms under control, it will probably cease to become an issue.
When the mucosal surface of the intestines is inflamed, it exudes copious quantities of mucus, in order to protect itself from whatever might be in the fecal stream causing the inflammation. IOW, a lot a mucus correlates with a heightened state of inflammation. As you get the inflammation under control, the mucus will diminish to a more normal level, and it will no longer be noticeable in the toilet bowl.
Yep, kids are rather candid when discussing certain body functions, until society, (in it's infinite wisdom), teaches them that it's not proper to discuss such things. After we develop microscopic colitis, we suddenly discover that the kids were right, all along.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I remember back when I was a brand-new member of the forum and there was a discussion about recycling the cardboard rollers from toilet paper. It was an eye-opener to me how much toilet paper people with this disease use, and how open discussion is on the board. I thought about that again yesterday when between three of us, we used a roll of toilet paper in about four hours.
