lunch off of the PF Changs Gluten free menu... ouch
So ,I had to meet my parents for lunch and knew PF Chang's had some gluten free selections, so we met there. I ordered a chicken dish that came with steamed rice and egg drop soup. I didn't realize it was deep fried ( with a sweet sauce) until it came to me. So, I ate it. Two hours later, I felt awful. Couldn't eat dinner. Morning stool was very soft. Now it's the late afternoon and I have a lot of pain and D. Haven't had this since starting the Entocort. Can eating fried food do this much damage?
Sorry you had such a bad experience. Fried foods have never seemed to bother me, unless they were breaded with something that I can't tolerate, or the oil was cross-contaminated. Maybe there was something in the sauce that you react to.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hope you are feeling better.
Could it be the oil itself? I have read that fat is hard on the digestive system.
I'll be on the road in a few weeks. Has anyone had good experience with the Outback Steakhouse GF menu? I plan on packing some Amy's GF DF entree's to microwave if needed.

I always ate Phillip's Lemon Chicken at P.F. Changs when I was still eating chicken. It didn't cause me any problems then.
I used to eat at Outback Steakhouse when I could still eat beef. I had to send my meal back a couple of times because they would put cheese on the burger and you have to ask that they make the veggie without any butter. Also make sure that the potato isn't dipped in a "butter" sauce. For many of us, gluten is just the beginning of products we must avoid in restaurants.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.

Yes, Gloria, I know what you mean. We went to Bennett's Pit BBQ tonight. They have a gluten-free menu too, and their food is pretty good. Their sauces are all gluten-free. But one taste of their "steamed veggies" told me those were not dairy-free; they are "steamed in butter" according to our waitress, so I had to donate those to my dh. I'm not eating potato skins anyway right now (because of the fiber) so that was OK. If you have their salads and are dairy-sensitive, you have to eat them without dressing or bring your own, since their gluten-free dressings are bleu cheese, ranch, and thousand island.
